High Performance Hydrophilic Butyl Bentonite Waterstop
Advantages
- Simple Installation Installation of PVC waterstop is labour intensive and requires split-forming, edge -ties and site welding of butt joints. HYDROTITE HP is secured to the concrete surface with a primer. It is extremely easy to handle thus saving installation time and cost.
- Active Mechanism Traditional PVC waterstops work on a passive ‘tortuous-path principle’ where water travels slowly around the waterstops. HYDROTITE HP is an ACTIVE waterstop. It swells in the direction of water and seals the voids and cracks through which water seeps. Its’ slow expansion rate prevents damage to freshly placed concrete during curing.
- Flexible Inflexible PVC waterstops require complicated detailing and a large variety of junction pieces. These processes are not required when using HYDROTITE HP. HYDROTITE HP is very flexible and is highly suited for corners and pipe penetrations. There will be no displacement or compacting problems in concrete.
- Withstand High Pressure HYDROTITE HP is designed to withstand 60m head of hydrostatic pressure and because of its rubbery properties it will bond to both concrete surfaces in between yet creates a rubber seal for water tightness.
